I came across this combination of these two Swing standards – Duke Ellington’s It Don’t Mean a Thing (1931) and Louis Prima’s Sing, Sing, Sing (1936) while arranging music for a concert with choir and band.

It worked really well so I made this version for band alone and it has proved very popular since. It provides a good chance for your drummer to show off his ‘Krupa Toms’.
