I Have a Dream

I Have a Dream was composed by Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus. It was a track on the 1979 ABBA album Voulez-Vous and was also released as a single in the same year. Westlife released a cover of the song in December 1999, twenty years after ABBA's original release. It became the group's fourth UK No. 1 single and was also the UK's Christmas number-one single of 1999, extending its position into January 2000 and spending a total of seventeen weeks in the UK chart.

Around that time I was part of the production team for a unique ceremonial event – The Royal Military Tattoo 2000 and, when the producer Michael Parker asked for a contemporary anthem to feature in the Tattoo, I Have a Dream seemed like an obvious choice. This arrangement featured on the Royal Military Tattoo 2000.
