It is good to see that Latin dance music remains popular, with the likes of Jessie Jay recording new songs in the genre. Every now and again I like to return to writing a bit of Latin music, normally as an antidote to attempting more serious composition. I have always loved the Cha cha dance so on this occasion I wrote a sinuous, slinky minor key dance with the hope that its hypnotic rhythm would make people want to move to the beat.

Performance-wise it needs drums and percussion with an understanding of the latin rhythms, some cool trumpets and an overall feeling for the syncopation inherent in the piece.
